EU funds in Hungary represent a significant part of the investment of enterprises. However, as we attempt to demonstrate, over the last decade or so, these funds have been used in a wasteful and inefficient way. They have not lead to increased growth of enterprises, but have caused significant market distortions instead. EU funding has resulted in slower growth for Hungarian beneficiaries than for their non-funded peers.
